Report on Technology Based Learning Programme
Technology enhanced learning has presently enabled the way of teaching and learning digitally with the digital displays and audio-visual components that make classrooms interactive.
Learning has taken a paradigm shift from conventional way of chalk and talk method to powerpoint presentation, smart classes and other technological modes. As the power of processing engines is becoming high, new avenues become visible with additional learning tools. Technology Based Learning is one such tools initiated by the SRMIST which has adopted a futuristic view in teaching-learning process towards the professional development of the prospective engineers. Technology Based Learning is first of its kind in the row of its innovative measures. With the advent of Moodle and other learning platforms, Technology Based Learning is yet another novel venture of SRMIST, Tiruchirappalli, with the power of computing, taking the students stride with their heads high in the field of technology. This is a dream child of SRMIST coming true with the initiative of TBL, which was launched on 28.01.2022.
Dr.N.Malmurugan, Dean-Engineering &Technology welcomed the honorable Chairman, Dr. R. Shivakumar in his absentia and also the gathering. He traced the surge of technology from 2.o to 5.o in the realm of industry-academia interface.
The Co-Chairman, Mr. S. Niranjan gave the special address motivating the students to utilize the facilities provided by the University. He released the News Letter which was received by Dr. N. Sethuraman, Chief Director, SRM Group of Insitutions, Trichy and Ramapuram campuses.
The chief director felicitated the occasion dwelling on the resources and innovative initiatives of SRMIST by which students can thrive in their professions.
The Deputy Director, Dr. K. Kathiravan touched on the computing facilities and procedures of exam cell of SRMIST, and the laurels the students can acquire by following them with proper focus.
The Microsoft Surface Note books were distributed to 20 students of B.Tech (CSE), B.Tech (AI&ML) and B.Tech (ECE) in person on account of Covid protocol. Tablets would be shipped to the residence of the other students. The management of SRMIST is magnanimous enough to give away the tablets at free of cost to all the students of E&T.
